Sign Museum Grand Opening featuring the Astoria Jazz Collective

Grand opening of the New Astoria Sign Museum at the Armory. Tour the history of old Astoria  through vintage signs and memorabilia, while enjoying sounds of a fabulous local jazz band the Astoria Jazz collective.

Doors open at 6pm, Show starts at 7pm

Astoria Jazz Collective is a group of musicians who have built a stellar reputation performing shows at the Pacifick Distillery and the Seaside Jazz & Blues Festival with Roxanne Hill on Piano, David Drury on Guitar, Clarence Robinson on Bass, Dusty Hill on Drums, Tom Hunt on Saxophone and Chelsea LaFey Vocals.

The show will be in the historic Astoria Armory mezzanine with a musical and visual journey through a historical collection of signage from Astoria in the 60’s.  Growing up in Astoria, Jeff Daly was attracted to the sizes and shapes, colors and style of signs and started to collect in 1966. Today he has nearly 100 and has created a display with them at the Astoria Armory mezzanine showcasing the original 1922 Astoria sign, the location of Clark Gables first public performance.
